MCM COMIC CON, LONDON, 25-27TH OCTOBER
I’ll be at the MCM Comic Con in London for all three days, selling and signing my books and I’ll also be on the “Building Worlds” panel on Sunday 27th at 11am on the Writers’ Block Stage.
Aside from me, there’s a ton of amazing authors to see over the weekend!

I’ll be attending FantasyCon this year and they’ve asked me to do a few panels. Here’s my schedule…
FRIDAY 11th, 9pm: I’ll be reading something horrific (as in from the horror… unless you really want to hear my first drafts?) in the Gladstone Room.
SATURDAY 12th, 9am: MUPPETS MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER in the Prince Albert room.
SATURDAY 12th, 3pm: RESPECT AND KINDNESS IN WRITING in the Collonades.
SUNDAY 13th, 10am: BUILDING AN AUTHOR BRAND in the Palazzo
SUNDAY 13TH, Noon: SO YOU’VE FOUND YOURSELF IN A WORLD RULED BY DRAGONS? A SURVIVAL GUIDE in the Edwards Room.
SUNDAY 13th, 1pm: I’ll be reading something fantastical in the Gladstone Room.

MAIDSTONE MUSEUM STEAMPUNK FESTIVAL

I’ll be there selling and signing books. There will also be Tea Duelling, Familiar Flinging, a Bring n Buy stall, a Fashion parade, and much more!

Steampunk Weekend
Yet another opportunity to come and point at and prod me in public! This is quite a unique event in that it takes place at two train stations (Bodiam and Tenterden), but when you buy a ticket you’re getting unlimited travel between the two!

I was very excited to be asked to attend Cymera this year, and over the moon when they asked me to chat with the legendary Charles Stross! The great thing about Cymera is if you can’t make it in person (it’s in Edinburgh!), then they also live stream the events. More details below, and you can grab your tickets here.

I’ll be at Fort Amherst Fantasy Festival, Easter 2024

Delighted to confirm that I’ll be at the Fort Amherst Fantasy Festival on Easter Sunday/Monday! I’ll be seeing and signing books and hopefully not getting lost in the tunnels. Grab your early bird tickets here.
Fort Amherst Family Fantasy Festival
On Easter Sunday and Monday, the historic tunnels of Fort Amherst will be transformed into a child-friendly fantasy world of make believe and science fiction. The tunnels will be home to a spectacle of fairies and goblins, Star Wars characters, Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who players, Fantasy Creatures and Dragons, and other exciting characters.
Joining the fun will be the amazing wacky performers of the Kentspectations Steam Punk Group bringing a Victorian science fiction element to the festival. Alongside them will be the sinister figures of the Vader’s Raiders cosplay group including a special appearance of the legendary Chewbacca.
In the Cave Yard Captain Jack Sparrow will enthral you with his Black Pearl ship display and piratical activities. Little pirates will be able to brush-up on their buccaneering skills with sword fighting and lessons in talking like a Pirate!
There will be a number of other engaging activities such as children’s activities, storytelling, and more. Also check out the ‘science fiction and fantasy worlds’ trade stands.
Children are encouraged to join in with the fun by dressing up as their favourite fantasy characters.
Around every corner you will encounter creatures galore, all of whom will provide the perfect photo opportunity for the young and at heart.

We had so much fun last year, we’re doing it again! Some fab local authors will be signing books for Christmas gifts (or why not treat yourself?). There will be mulled wine and mince pies!

Ashford Library – Author Talk – Gabby Hutchinson Crouch & Mark Stay
Thursday 9 November 2023 at 6pm – 7.30pm
Join Gabby Hutchinson Crouch (Darkwood) and Mark Stay (The Witches of Woodville) as they discuss the challenges and joys of writing humorous fantasy fiction and their influences!
Gabby Hutchinson Crouch is a regular writer on Radio 4′s THE NEWS QUIZ and THE NOW SHOW. Her first novel, DARKWOOD, was published in 2019 by Farrago Books, followed by the second in the series, SUCH BIG TEETH, a year later, and the third in the series, GLASS COFFIN, published in 2021.
Mark Stay got a part-time Christmas job as a bookseller back in 1993 and worked in publishing for over 25 years. He would write in his spare time and sometimes those writings would get turned into books and films, including the Witches of Woodville series from Simon & Schuster, and the 2023 Warner Bros. horror movie Unwelcome.
